The Story
Chris Meyers grew up in a loving home and carried that warmth into adulthood, building a family with his wife Sara and their spirited 10-year-old daughter, Hailey. From childhood, Chris took Ryan, an abandoned and troubled boy, under his wing. With Chris’s parents’ kindness, Ryan finally had a place to call home.
But years of trauma and isolation, compounded by Ryan’s work as a military contractor, left deep psychological scars. When that pain turns into obsession, Ryan kidnaps Sara and Hailey, convinced he deserves the family Chris built.
As Chris returns home to find his family gone, he is forced to face the man he trusted like a brother. A New Beginning is a gripping drama about family, trauma, and the consequences that follow when mental instability and love becomes possession.

Donation Disclaimer / Policy
Donations are voluntary. Contributions to NEXTAKE Films / A New Beginning are made to support independent film production and are not a purchase of equity, profit participation, or ownership interest in the film.
No guarantee of completion or release. Film production involves creative, financial, and scheduling risks. While we intend to complete and release A New Beginning, we cannot guarantee timelines, festival acceptance, distribution, or any specific outcome.
Use of funds. Funds may be used for production and completion costs including (but not limited to) prologue production, cast/crew, locations, permits, equipment, insurance, travel, post-production (editing, sound, color, music), deliverables, marketing materials, and festival submissions. If plans change, funds will be applied to the closest practical needs to complete the project.
Perks and acknowledgments. If donor perks (credit, early links, set visits, etc.) are offered, they are subject to availability and may be substituted with an item of equal value if necessary. Credit placement and formatting are at the discretion of the producers. Donor names will appear exactly as submitted.
Refunds. Donations are generally non-refundable once processed. If you believe a donation was made in error or was unauthorized, contact us within 7 days and we will review the request. Chargebacks and disputes may result in the donor being removed from credits/perks.
Taxes. Donations are not tax-deductible unless explicitly stated. Donors should consult a tax professional regarding their individual situation.
Privacy. We will not sell your personal information. Donor information is used only for processing the donation, delivering perks (if applicable), and sending project updates. You may opt out of updates at any time.
Age. Donors must be at least 18 years old (or have permission from a parent/guardian).
